Twenty-five fans of the Saarbruecken soccer team were detained for rowdy behavior in Kaiserslautern, West Germany, at a match between their club and the team from Kaiserslautern.
Police said that the fans were released after being taken into custody for identity checks. Some Saarbruecken fans started fights with Kaiserslautern followers, police said.
The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
