The Region : Auto Kills 2 Children in San Clemente

Two children were killed and their mother was injured when they were struck by a car in San Clemente, police said. Margarita Farias, 25, of San Clemente was crossing El Camino Real at Avenida Florencia with her three children when they were struck by the car. Anders Farias, 2, and Guadalupe Farias, 5, died at Mission Community Hospital. A third child, Jose Farias, 1, was released after being treated at the scene, according to Police Sgt. Paul Falk. The mother was reported in critical but stable condition at the hospital. The driver was not cited pending further investigation, police said.
