Kings Will Attempt to Halt Slump at Edmonton Tonight

Share

The Kings will open a five-game trip against the Edmonton Oilers, two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, tonight at the Northlands Coliseum.

The Oilers (18-4-3), who defeated the Kings, 8-4, Tuesday night at the Forum, are unbeaten in their last nine games and have lost just once at home this season.

The Kings (5-16-3) are winless in their last five games. They are 3-6-1 on the road. Defenseman Mark Hardy, who has been out since the start of the season with a wrist injury, will make the trip, and there is a possibility that he’ll play this weekend at Winnipeg.

The Kings sent right wing Paul Guay to their minor league team in New Haven, Conn., Wednesday and called up right wing Bryan Erickson. Guay had not scored a point in his last eight games. Erickson was acquired Oct. 31 from the Washington Capitals for defenseman Bruce Shoebottom. Erickson had 8 goals and 3 assists in 14 games with New Haven.
