The jury award to Denzil G. Kreisher, one of the largest in Marin County history, came after a 36-day trial in San Rafael Superior Court. The suit stems from Kreisher’s attempts in 1980 to sell his Mobil station. Mobil Oil refused to approve any of the four offers made to Kreisher, even though two came from men who later obtained Mobil franchises. The award includes $2 million in punitive damages. Mobil also owes about $500,000 in interest on the award, and it may have to pay attorney fees.
