Irvine police have arrested two men and confiscated a kilogram of high-grade cocaine with an estimated street value of $200,000 after a narcotics purchase by undercover officers in a parking lot at Bristol Street and Anton Boulevard in Costa Mesa, police said Thursday.
Booked at Orange County Jail for conspiracy to sell cocaine were Gregory Leonard Horan, 35, of Anaheim and Robert Raymond Elliot, 35, whose address is unknown, said Irvine Police Sgt. Leo Jones. Police requested that bail be set at $250,000 each.
Irvine undercover officers, assisted by Costa Mesa police, arrested Horan about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot after paying $38,000 for the kilogram of cocaine, Jones said.
But investigators, hoping Elliot would lead them to his home, followed him to the outskirts of San Diego before deciding to move in for the arrest with the aid of officers from the North San Diego Narcotics Task Force, Jones said.
Police said Elliot had provided Horan with the cocaine and described both suspects as major narcotics dealers.
