Lasorda Advised to Stick to What He Knows Best
I read with interest Dodger Manager Tom Lasorda’s comments that drug use is “not a sickness; it’s a weakness.” Such a statement must also interest the Dodger players who are recovering from chemical dependency. Their recovery regimens are based to no small degree on the premise that their addiction is a disease, not a personal or moral weakness.
If pasta were an illegal or mind-altering substance, such as cocaine and marijuana, Mr. Lasorda might change his tune.
