Lasorda Advised to Stick to What He Knows Best

Share

Tom Lasorda is quoted in part as saying: “The recent trial in Pittsburgh hurt baseball. We got to try to clean out the guys who do drugs.”

Doesn’t this sound a little peculiar, since two of those involved in the Pittsburgh matter were obtained by the Dodgers (and Lasorda) late in the season and performed as Tommy, no doubt, had hoped, instrumental in the Dodgers’ winning their divisional title.

I agree with and fully endorse Lasorda’s observations that drug-taking is a weakness and that we “ought to clean out” these guys, but how can he keep a straight face in view of the team’s action?
