The Soviet Union, extending a landmark art exchange approved last week in Moscow, has agreed to an exhibit in New York City, Occidental Petroleum chairman Armand Hammer said today.

Hammer announced in Los Angeles that the collection of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings from Moscow and Leningrad will appear at New York’s Metropolitan Museum, of which Hammer is a trustee. Exhibits in Washington, D.C., in May and June and in Los Angeles the following two months had already been announced. The New York opening would follow next fall.
