An operation designed to save Stephan’s Odyssey, a 3-year-old colt with earnings of $1,255,328, has been delayed because of complications. The colt shattered small bones in its lower left leg during a workout Sunday at Hialeah and has since developed blood clots in the leg. An attending veterinarian said the colt would have to be destroyed if the condition persists.
