Cities to Share Ballot Counters
Beverly Hills has agreed to let West Hollywood use its ballot-counting machine during the April 8 municipal elections.
The request came from the new city, which might otherwise have had to buy a machine of its own for $15,000. Renting such a machine would be difficult because there are not enough of them available.
Beverly Hills officials said they agreed to the request on the understanding that their own ballots would be counted first.
Two seats are up for grabs in Beverly Hills and three in West Hollywood.
