A Malibu man who allegedly sold “scores” of cougar cubs through newspaper ads has been charged with nine misdemeanor counts stemming from the seven-month operation, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Thursday.

Randolph Kuolt, 33, was arrested as the result of a state Department of Fish and Game sting operation after he allegedly tried to sell investigators a 3-week-old cougar cub for $2,500.

Prosecutors said Kuolt was keeping the cub’s parents at his Malibu home. He faces arraignment Dec. 31.
