Golden West, Long Beach Share Water Polo Honors

Golden West College and Long Beach City shared the top honors as the South Coast Conference announced its 1985 all-conference water polo team. Geoff Gruber of Golden West shared Player of the Year honors with Dale Inskeep of Long Beach and the Rustlers’ Tom Hermstad and Long Beach’s Monte Nitzkowski were named co-Coaches of the Year.

First Team:

Jim Zakasky, Gary Tichy, Jason Jeffries, Geoff Gruber (Golden West); Dale Inskeep, Scott Leonard, Mike Solano, Tim Moilaniu (Long Beach); Shawon McFarland (Cerritos); Brent Parenteau (Cypress); Kevin Cloud (Pasadena).

Second Team:

Vic Flynn, Don McIlrath, Jack Perisko (Long Beach); David Cook, Brian Brotherton, Jorge Garcia, Mark Wicks (Golden West); David Carpenter, Matt Hohue (Cerritos); Kevin McKee, Brian Howe, Vince Ortego (Cypress).
