Community Psychiatric Centers said last week that it relocated its corporate headquarters to Santa Ana from San Francisco, where the company had been based since its founding in 1959.

The company made the move, which became effective this month, because the bulk of its operations were handled out of its Santa Ana office anyway, said Richard Conte, senior vice president.

Community Psychiatric currently owns 29 acute-care psychiatric hospitals in 14 states andin the United Kingdom. In California, the company operates nine hospitals, including one in Santa Ana. Community Psychiatric also operates 58 hemodialysis centers throughout the United States.
