The New England Patriots reconsidered offering NFL playoff tickets to five men who were injured when a stolen goal post touched electrical wires as it was being hauled from the stadium.
The fans, who were celebrating the victory that put the Patriots into Saturday’s wild-card playoff game, were burned when the goal post touched a 13,200-volt power line, police said.
The team originally had said the injured men would be offered a chance to buy tickets to the game, but then decided to withhold the offer until police clarify whether the fans were breaking the law when they were hurt.
