A state appeals court in New Orleans has refused to overturn its decision reinstating sports bribery charges against former Tulane basketball star John (Hot Rod) Williams, a key figure in the school’s point-shaving scandal.

The Louisiana 4th Circuit Court of Appeal, without issuing a written decision, denied Williams’ attorneys a rehearing in the case, court records showed Friday. Joel Loeffelholz, one of Williams’ attorneys, said the case will be appealed to the Louisiana Supreme Court.
