Telefile Computer Posts Fiscal Year Net Loss

Telefile Computer Corp. reported a net loss of $29,194 for its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, compared with net income of $31,456 for the prior year. The Irvine-based company said it had an operating loss of $343,774 that was nearly offset by gains from debt restructuring and a tax credit totaling $314,580. Revenue of $9.6 million was up 7.8% from $8.9 million.

Telefile attributed its losses to a general downturn in the computer industry. Sam Edens, Telefile’s chairman, chief executive and president, said the company has reduced its expenses and that he expects 1986 to be “a reasonably good year.”
