Nepal Finally Enters Television Age

KATMANDU, Nepal —
This remote Himalayan country has finally entered the television age with the opening of the first TV transmission station in the capital of Katmandu.
The transmission system was formally unveiled Sunday night. The station will transmit nearly two hours of programs a day.
Before this, Nepalese wanting to watch TV had to settle for programs from neighboring India.
