Nepal Frees 216 Convicts

KATMANDU, Nepal —
This Himalayan nation released 216 prisoners from different jails to mark King Birendra’s 41st birthday, according to the Home Ministry. Most of those released Sunday had already served more than half of their terms, the announcement said.
