An airline employee who was taken captive by rebels in Angola filed suit in Alameda County Superior Court against his employer for failing to warn him that the African nation is involved in a civil war and that the rebels had threatened to attack anyone supplying diamond mines there. Paul Huggins, 25, a British citizen, was cargo supervisor on a Transamerica Airlines L-1011 cargo plane that delivered supplies to the Cafunfo diamond mines in Angola a year ago. Rebels attacked the plane, killed the co-pilot and held Huggins and five other crew members captive for more than two months. A similar suit was filed in June by Carol Read, wife of co-pilot William Read of Chico.
