Two women were killed and two teen-age boys slightly injured when their car was broadsided in South Los Angeles by another car carrying four youths who were fleeing from police after running a red light, Los Angeles police said. The teen-age driver of the fleeing car, who received only minor injuries, was booked at Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder, officers said. Police were chasing the youth’s car west on 39th Street when it ran a second red light at Arlington Avenue and slammed into the second car, officers said. The two women, who were not wearing seat belts, were thrown from their car. The driver, whose name was withheld, was taken to Daniel Freeman Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The second woman, Clara Mims, 67, died at the scene. The three other occupants of the fleeing car suffered minor injuries.
