KTLA TOPS IN ROSE PARADE COVERAGE

Viewers made KTLA Channel 5 their channel of choice by nearly a 2-to-1 margin for live coverage of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena New Year’s Day, ratings from the A.C. Nielsen Co. showed Thursday.

It was the 11th consecutive year that KTLA has won the competition among stations covering the Rose Parade, a spokesman said.

From the beginning of the parade at 8:15 a.m. until its conclusion at 10:30 a.m., KTLA averaged a 20.1 rating (representing about 881,400 homes). Other parade coverage drew a 12.5 for KTTV Channel 11 (about 547,500 homes), a 6.2 for KNBC Channel 4 (about 271,500 homes) and a 3.2 for KCBS Channel 2 (about 140,100 homes).
