Motorcycle Crash Kills San Fernando Man, 21

A 21-year-old San Fernando man was killed when his motorcycle collided with an oncoming car, San Fernando police said.

Robert Cushing was driving south on Brand Boulevard about 2:14 a.m. Wednesday when he slammed broadside into a car turning west onto Hollister Street, police said.

Carol Lee Oliver, 56, of Burbank, driver of the car, told police she did not see the motorcycle until it was too late, police said.

Paramedics pronounced Cushing dead at the scene at 2:19 a.m.

Witnesses told police that Cushing was traveling at a legal speed and had a green light.

Oliver was not arrested or cited, but police said they plan to turn the case over to the district attorney’s office for investigation.
