RENO — After the chief cashier for the Reno Ramada Hotel Casino failed to return from an afternoon break, employees discovered more than $250,000 missing from the establishment, police said.
A nationwide alert and a warrant was issued charging the cashier, Robert Lee West, 46, with embezzlement and grand larceny, said Police Sgt. Jerry Cavallo.
West went on his afternoon break about 2.15 p.m. Friday, Cavallo said. An hour later, fellow employee casino employees noticed that he had not returned.
If West is apprehended, police will ask the Reno Justice Court to set bail of $250,000 in cash or a $1-million bond, Cavallo said.
