Prop. 13: Arguments on Fairness Continue

I was delighted to read Dick Turpin’s column about the irregularities of Proposition 13. As one of the “majorities” in California, I sold my residence in 1979 and purchased a new home. Thus I enjoyed one year of 50% reduced property tax, only to have it subjected to 1% of the purchase price of the new home.
There are definitely a lot of inequities at present, and I appreciate that someone brought the matter to the general public.
