Marilyn Klinghoffer, whose husband was killed last year during the hijack of the Achille Lauro cruise ship, has been talking to producers about selling her story for a television movie or serial, a spokeswoman said today.

“We’ve met with a number of independent producers and major studios to discuss their offers and see what the chemistry is like,” spokeswoman Letty Simon said. “The general consensus is that television is the best medium for the story.

“This is not a crass commercial thing,” Simon said. “(Mrs. Klinghoffer) doesn’t want to be a public figure, but she feels the story should be told.”

Leon Klinghoffer, who was confined to a wheelchair, was killed by Palestinian terrorists who seized the cruise ship in the Mediterranean.
