Architectural Graphics of Firm Displayed

Share

Drawings and pictures of work completed over the last 20 years by Venturi, Rauch and Scott Brown--honored by the American Institute of Architects as “the architectural firm of the 1985”--are on display at the Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design at 2401 Wilshire Blvd.

The firm was cited for its deep probes into “theoretical and practical issues of our times” and was a leader in the post-modern movement in American architecture, a style which rejected stark glass-and-steel buildings.

In conjunction with the exhibit, Steven Izenhour--a partner in the firm headed by the husband and wife design team of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown--will present a lecture describing work of the firm at an 8 p.m. program Jan. 29 at the Park Plaza Hotel adjacent to the school.
