Office Buildings Approved: While the Brea-Olinda Unified School District continues to negotiate the sale to a developer of the 39-acre site of the old Brea-Olinda High School, city officials gave the same developer their final approval last week to add two more office buildings to a project across from the school. Lowe Development Corp. plans to expand the Brea Financial Commons, on the northeast corner of Birch Street and State College Boulevard, with 135,000 square feet of office space. Meanwhile, the developer continues to negotiate on the school site, which the city has agreed to clear for development of office buildings, restaurants and an eight-screen cinema. The school district plans to lease the site--a prime location across from Brea Mall and the Civic Center--to finance construction of a new school north of Lambert Road and east of the Orange Freeway.
