Preliminary discussions for the sale of the Beverly Hills-based firm, whose successful Giorgio perfume put the company on a fast- growth track, were broken off because “the parties involved could not come together,” a Giorgio spokeswoman said. Giorgio declined to confirm Wall Street rumors that cosmetics giant Estee Lauder was the suitor. “The company is not for sale,” the spokeswoman said. “We are . . . now moving ahead on the plans we have for Giorgio.”
