Santa Ana : 3 Schools Considered for Year-Round Status

Share

The Santa Ana Unified School District tonight will consider designating three more elementary schools for year-round status.

The recommendation halves the number of schools suggested for the change last November, when the school board announced its intent to add Greenville Fundamental and Adams, Hoover, Jefferson, Remington and Washington elementary schools to those on the new schedule for 1986-87. After parent meetings at each of the schools, the district’s staff analyzed the proposals and considered several other solutions to the overcrowded conditions, including addition of portable buildings, double sessions, boundary adjustments and busing to other schools.

Adams, Hoover and Remington schools are still recommended for the year-round schedule. The district has already designated 13 other schools for the program.
