A Pasadena man who vanished five years ago as he was about to go on trial for his wife’s murder was back in court after turning himself in to Pasadena police last weekend, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said. Juan Jose Macias, 36, was ordered to stand trial in Pasadena Superior Court on Feb. 20 for the 1980 stabbing death of his wife, Daisy, then 27. Authorities said Macias had been missing since August, 1981.
