Mark Raymond Berry, the father of the New England Patriots’ coach, was released from a Dallas Hospital, where he had undergone heart bypass surgery. He returned to his home in Paris, Tex.
Because his surgery was only 10 days ago, Berry was under strict orders to avoid excitement, so he was not allowed to watch Sunday’s AFC championship game, in which the Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins. But he was allowed to watch a videotape after returning home Monday.
