Lillian Lim Quon, a deputy attorney general based in San Diego since 1977, was appointed to the Municipal Court bench by Gov. George Deukmejian this week.
Quon, 34, replaces Judge J. Richard Haden, who has been promoted to Superior Court.
Quon has been involved in the investigation and prosecution of Medi-Cal fraud cases.
Municipal Court judges earn $70,000 annually.
