A man who was shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies after he allegedly killed his mother-in-law and critically wounded his wife outside a Covina area restaurant has been identified as Jeffery Griffin, 23, of Covina. His wife, Regina Ann Griffin, 23, was listed in critical condition at Pomona Valley Community Hospital with a gunshot wound in the head. Sheriff’s deputies said Jeffery Griffin shot his wife and mother-in-law outside the B and J Restaurant after an argument. Regina Ann McCutcheon, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene. After fleeing the restaurant, Griffin was found about 90 minutes later, hiding in a U-Haul truck at a nearby rental yard. Griffin fired one shot at officers, grazing the forehead of an unidentified sheriff’s deputy. Deputies immediately returned the fire, killing Griffin, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
