Dealing With Terrorism

Share

In this time of international terrorism, we need cool heads to provide measured and calculated response by our government. What we do not need is shrill and irresponsible advice from some newsmen and columnists.

I refer to the “sic-um” or “double-dare-you” cries from people like Conrad, Ted Koppel, Daniel Schorr, and Jody Powell. These Rambos with pens can lead us into disaster.

They remind me of the troublemakers we used to have in grade school. When two kids had a disagreement these sideliners always urged, “Let’s you and him fight.”

Referring to our President as a “paper tiger” or “all talk and no action” will not help the situation in the least.

Our Administration has too many “John Wayne” types now. One dare too many, and we may find ourselves reacting to the dare, instead of to the terrorists. Please, let’s tone down the rhetoric of the news people so that the government people, who have the responsibility, can do their job.
