The company jumped back into the market for 35-millimeter cameras after a 16-year absence, unveiling a pair of automatic focus, non-single lens reflex models. Eastman Kodak said the new cameras will be known as the Kodak VR 35, models K10 and K12. The cameras will be available within weeks at suggested list prices of $129.95 and $199.95, respectively. The company also reported that it expects to take a “significant” charge against its fourth-quarter earnings from the court-ordered discontinuance of its instant photography business. Kodak said the amount of the charge has not been determined.
