Wisconsin Legislator Seeks U.S. Senate Seat

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — State Sen. Gary George, 31, on Tuesday announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate. He said that the federal budget deficit will be the main issue of the campaign.
The other announced candidates to oppose Sen. Robert Kasten (R-Wis.) are Edward Garvey, a former state deputy attorney general, and former state Democratic Party Chairman Matthew Flynn.
