A 29-year-old San Diego man was arrested Wednesday morning after police discovered four ounces of cocaine and $3,450 in cash in a purse the man apparently had misplaced at the beauty college he was attending, officials said.
Jose Aceves was arrested at the De Loux School of Cosmetology in Chula Vista and held on suspicion of possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for sale. Police said Aceves was wearing a dress at the time he was arrested.
Police were called to the school about 10 a.m. to check on a woman’s handbag that had been unclaimed. The cocaine and cash were discovered while officers were looking through the purse for identification and the owner, Aceves, was found to be registered at the school as a student.
Aceves is being held in County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
