USIU Defeats Northern Arizona in Hockey

Jeff Dobek scored three goals and had three assists to pace U.S. International University to an 11-6 victory over Northern Arizona in a Great West Hockey Conference game Friday night.

Dave Nash also tallied twice for the Gulls, who led 7-3 after the second period and coasted to victory. USIU is 5-2 in conference play and 13-11 overall after beating the Lumberjacks for the third straight time this season.

Northern Arizona’s record fell to 0-7 and 4-15 despite getting two goals apiece from Brent Mowery and Dave Branting.

The Lumberjacks are playing their home games here because of ice-making problems at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff.
