Proposal for 3 New Freeways
It’s interesting that on the same day that Kim Murphy’s article on growth and three new freeways appeared (Jan. 19) the graph comparing smog levels showed El Toro and Los Angeles to be roughly the same in unhealthy ozone.
Actually, it is common to see this phenomenon of both Costa Mesa and El Toro smog levels approaching that of Los Angeles. This is probably a reflection of the growth that has occurred in Orange County over the past two decades.
If people believe that air quality in Irvine and Orange County will improve with the planned imposition of massive new growth mandated by the three proposed freeways, then they deserve enrollment in the Flat Earth Society.
