Sheriff’s deputies fouled a backyard cockfight in East Los Angeles, arresting 18 surprised spectators during a raid and confiscating several injured birds. Sgt. Joe Garza said that deputies, acting on an anonymous telephone tip, watched “suspects priming the birds for the event” before they raided a house in the 1200 block of East 68th Street.
