WWII Aircraft Carrier Named Historic Landmark

NEW YORK — The Interior Department has designated the aircraft carrier Intrepid, berthed in the Hudson River, a National Historic Landmark. The Intrepid Museum Foundation on Saturday was given a plaque recognizing the ship’s role in the Pacific during World War II.
