Something’s Rotten in the City of Santa Rosa
A four-block-long trail of manure was dumped near the Santa Rosa City Hall on Wednesday in what officials suspected was a protest against the alleged pumping of city sewage into the Russian River.
A newspaper delivery truck driver told police that he saw another man spilling the manure from a large flatbed truck and holding a sign. Police Lt. Mike Lambert said the sign “was something to the effect of ‘nuts’. . . .”
Miles Ferris, Santa Rosa director of utilities, said the Russian River is “one of the cleanest rivers in Northern California.”
