An administrative aide at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles who was accused last December of attacking a man who was distributing Spanish-language leaflets outside the consulate has pleaded no contest to a charge of battery, the city attorney’s office said. Salvador Ricardo Uribe, 26, was placed on two years’ summary probation and ordered to pay $850 in fines and penalties. Authorities said Uribe was arriving for work at the consulate when he encountered Jack Gerriten, 49, of Monterey Park, and a fight began. Gerriten, hit with a plastic link chain, received minor facial cuts.
