A 28-year-old woman was jailed by El Cajon police on suspicion of suffocating one handicapped son last year and another more than five years ago. Police Lt. Randy Narramore said that in investigating the Jan. 19, 1985, death of Deborah Sue Robles’ 6-year-old son, John, officers learned that her 4-month-old son, Mathew, had died elsewhere in San Diego County on Sept. 1, 1980. Subsequently, statements made by the mother did not hold together, Narramore said, and homicide was suspected. The older boy reportedly suffered from cerebral palsy and his brother had hydrocephalus, or water on the brain.
