Making a Rotten Job of a Choice Assignment
- Share via
Is Scott Ostler undergoing an existential crisis? After receiving the choicest sports assignment of the year--covering the Super Bowl--he suddenly realizes the whole event suffers from the overblown media hype, and uses that single angle for every one of his stories. Certainly a seasoned professional sportswriter like Mr. Ostler couldn’t have just discovered this.
It seems a waste to pay someone $50,000 a year (or more) to hear him bitch about what a rotten job he has and what a rotten society this is for allowing him to have such a rotten job.
