Left-handed relief pitcher Ed Vande Berg agreed to terms of a one-year contract with the Dodgers Monday, one day before his scheduled arbitration hearing.
Vande Berg filed for salary arbitration asking for $500,000, while the Dodgers offered $425,000.
Terms of the contract were not announced.
Vande Berg, 27, was traded to the Dodgers by the Seattle Mariners in exchange for catcher Steve Yeager last November. Vande Berg had a 2-1 record with a 3.72 earned-run average and three saves in 76 games for the Mariners last year.
Vande Berg was 21-21 with 20 saves and an ERA of 3.73 in four seasons with the Mariners.
Five members of the Dodgers who filed for arbitration remained unsigned--pitchers Fernando Valenzuela and Orel Hershiser, catcher Mike Scioscia, first baseman Greg Brock and infielder Dave Anderson.
