Countywide : Asian Community to Ring In Year of Tiger

The Asian community will celebrate the lunar New Year this weekend with events throughout the county.

To ring in the Year of the Tiger, the Kuan Ch’uan Fa martial arts studio will hold a party starting Sunday at 1 p.m. The daylong festival will include martial arts demonstrations, an all-you-can-eat buffet and kung-fu movies. The studio is located at 140 E. Main St., Tustin.

The Vietnamese community will celebrate Saturday at Knott’s Berry Farm with shows and other entertainment, but the park will also be open to the public. The event will start at 10 a.m. and end at 1 a.m. Sunday with fireworks at midnight.

Another celebration sponsored by the Vietnamese community will take place at Centennial Regional Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with traditional ceremonies, food booths, stage shows and martial arts demonstrations. The park is located at 3000 Centennial Road, Santa Ana.
