‘Humans in Space’

We all mourn the loss of the seven in the Challenger tragedy. But perhaps this loss can also serve as a warning to humankind vis-a-vis nuclear weaponry. What man makes cannot be perfect even as man is not perfect.

Aside from human error, mechanical malfunction is always a possibility. There are safeguards, of course, but the likelihood of a malfunction, for example, in a warning system is very real. The consequences go beyond imagining.

We mourn for seven brave souls and their families. In the disaster of a nuclear exchange who would mourn for us?
