David Just, a Riverside church pastor who won several military decorations as a Marine in the Vietnam War, has been appointed to the California Veterans Board by Gov. George Deukmejian. Just, 40, pastor of the Mission Community Foursquare Church of Riverside, replaces John Monaghan of San Francisco, who resigned. Just’s term ends Jan. 1, 1990. Board members receive $50 per meeting plus expenses. Just received 13 decorations, including the Purple Heart for wounds received in action as a Marine sergeant in Vietnam. In 1983 and 1984, he served as chaplain for the Department of California Military Order of the Purple Heart.
