Lazers Blow 5-0 Lead, Lose in Overtime

CHICAGO — Brett Hall scored 16 seconds into sudden-death overtime as the Chicago Sting rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat the Lazers, 6-5, in a Major Indoor Soccer League game Friday night.
Bapapa scored in the first quarter and assisted Nathan Sacks’ goal in the second quarter as the Lazers took a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Lazers increased their lead to 5-0 after goals by Juan Cardenas, Kai Steffen and Greg Ion in the third quarter.
Neill Roberts finally got Chicago’s first goal at 3:39 of the fourth period.
To the delight of 5,395 fans at Chicago Stadium, the Sting followed with goals by Drew Furguson, Drago Dumbovic, Victor Nogueira, and Karl-Heinz Granitza to tie the game and send it into overtime.
